How much does a website cost in Ireland in 2026?

Real 2026 price ranges for small business websites in Ireland, from DIY builders to agencies, plus the running costs most quotes leave out and how to judge whether a website will actually pay for itself.

A small business website in Ireland in 2026 typically costs between €1,500 and €5,000 for a professionally built five to ten page site, with DIY builders starting from roughly €150 to €600 a year and complex agency builds going well past €10,000. Ongoing hosting, maintenance and security usually add €50 to €150 a month.

That is the honest short answer. The more useful answer is what you get at each price point, and whether the website will bring in enquiries or just sit there looking nice.

Typical website prices in Ireland in 2026

These are the ranges business owners are realistically quoted today.

DIY website builders (Wix, Squarespace, Shopify starter plans): roughly €150 to €600 per year. You build it yourself. It is the cheapest route in cash and the most expensive in time. It suits very early businesses that need a basic online presence quickly.

Freelance web designer: roughly €800 to €3,000. A standard five to ten page brochure site. Quality varies widely. Ask who handles hosting, updates, SEO setup and tracking once the site goes live.

Agency website: roughly €2,500 to €15,000+. Custom design, copywriting, technical SEO, integrations, booking or payment systems. Price rises with the number of pages, features and integrations.

E-commerce website: usually €3,000 to €20,000+. Product catalogue, payments, shipping rules, stock management and VAT handling add real complexity.

The running costs most quotes leave out

The build price is not the full cost. Budget for:

  • Domain name: around €15 to €40 per year for a .ie or .com.
  • Hosting: from €5 to €50 a month depending on platform and traffic.
  • Maintenance and security updates: often €50 to €150 a month, or charged per hour.
  • Business email: usually €5 to €10 per user per month.
  • Content changes and new pages: charged as you go unless included in a plan.

If a quote looks cheap, check which of these are missing.

What actually drives the price

Five things move the number more than anything else:

1. Number of pages. Every service and location page needs its own copy, layout and SEO setup. 2. Copywriting. Writing that turns visitors into enquiries is skilled work. Many low quotes assume you will supply all text. 3. Integrations. Booking calendars, CRMs, payment links, quote forms and email automation add development time. 4. SEO and AI search setup. Proper metadata, structured data, sitemap, Google Business Profile alignment and page speed are what get you found on Google and recommended by AI assistants like ChatGPT. 5. Tracking. Without conversion tracking you cannot tell which ads, pages or channels bring paying customers.

Cheap website vs a website that generates enquiries

A website is not a cost line. It is either a sales asset or a brochure.

A brochure website tells people you exist. A client acquisition website answers the questions buyers are asking, builds trust with proof and reviews, makes the next step obvious, captures every enquiry, and follows up automatically.

The difference shows up in the numbers. If your average job is worth €500 and a better website wins you four extra jobs a month, that is €2,000 a month. A €3,000 site that does that pays for itself in six weeks. A €600 site that wins nothing costs you more than it saved.

Questions to ask before you pay anyone

  • Who owns the domain, the hosting account and the website files?
  • Is copywriting included, or do I write everything?
  • Is basic SEO, structured data and a sitemap included?
  • Will it connect to my Google Business Profile, booking system or CRM?
  • Is conversion tracking set up so I can see where enquiries come from?
  • What does maintenance cost after launch, and what is included?
  • How quickly will a change be made when I ask for one?

Where Oconcept fits

We do not sell websites on their own as the goal. We build client acquisition systems: the website, the enquiry capture, the follow-up and the tracking working together. Our Managed Growth programme includes conversion pages or a five-page website alongside ads, CRM, email follow-up, SEO and reporting, so the site is built to bring in business from day one.

If you are comparing quotes and want a straight second opinion, book a short fit call and we will tell you honestly what you need and what you do not.
